Introduction to Stephen Parry

Stephen Parry joins the Faraday Institution as Technical Specialist

Technical Specialist Stephen Parry recently joined the Faraday Institution on secondment from Diamond Light Source. Stephen will be initiating improved support and co-ordination of battery science experiments at the national facilities at Harwell Campus; linking new researchers with technique experts at the facilities and already working within the Faraday Institution projects. Stephen is keen to hear from facility users, and potential users, to discuss your requirements, challenges, and where improvements can be made to smooth proposal submission and the running of your experiments. To build on improved co-ordination, Stephen will be gathering expressions of interest from project PIs, PLs, and Co-Is interested in developing opportunities for long-term and ‘Block Allocation Group’ (BAG) access to the national facilities.

Stephen Parry has over 20 years’ experience working in synchrotron facilities specialising in several techniques (X-ray spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction) and development of advanced sample environments. Stephen has previously worked in the nuclear sector as a consultant providing expert technical assessment to site owners and regulatory agencies. He has a degree in Chemistry from the University of Liverpool and a PhD in Earth Sciences from the University of Manchester.
